health promotion.
When looking at the above concept, four things have been mentioned, which can be considered in health promotion. Health promotion is in line with this topic since it is one way of cultivating a positive workplace environment for the caregivers. One of the factors is teamwork. This involves different specialists working together to achieve a particular goal. It implies that both skilled and unskilled workers must work together to improve patient health. The second thing is to re-orient health services. Medical professionals and other caregivers should go through their roles, which include serving the communities, patients, families, and populations. With this, they can identify their mistakes and come up with solutions to better their tasks.
The other factor is to build public health policies. These policies are put in place to enable the populations to lead a healthy life. The policies should focus on the value of health (Jones et al., 70). This implies that the government should take part in giving the required resources to raise a healthy nation. Social justice should also be considered to ensure that everyone can access health care services. Another thing that the policy should focus on is equity access and development. Inequalities in health is a significant problem that is rooted in the society where the rich take advantage of the poor (Batterham et al., 7). The last factor is the creation of a supportive environment. This means that healthcare workers need support to carry out their tasks. A supportive environment is created by both the internal and external factors within a healthcare institution.
Problem Statement
To achieve a positive workplace environment within a hospital or any other healthcare institution, health promotion must be considered. Hospitals need to come up with different ways to enhance the satisfaction of their patients. One way that the hospitals can promote health is by considering several factors (Jones et al., 72). This way, a positive working environment can be achieved. These factors include teamwork, building public health policies, re-orientation of the health services, and the creation of a supportive environment. Right now, most of the hospitals are having problems when it comes to their working environment. One of the issues is about security. Data security has become an enormous problem that is triggered by technology. Patients are complaining from time to time about their health records being shared to other individuals. This is a huge problem since it is against hospital policies. Another issue is about nurses and patient relationships. A significant number of patients keep complaining of how ill they get treated by the nurses and other caregivers.
Additionally, if these problems keep coming up, one of the consequences will be unemployment. Most of the caregivers and nurses will end up jobless due to the violation of patient rights. Another problem is that there will be disagreements between the managers and the caregivers because the patients will keep reporting issues from time to time. All these issues can become history by making hospitals a better place for both the patients and caregivers. This can primarily be achieved through health promotion. Thus, the objective of this study is to identify ways of cultivating a positive workplace environment within the hospitals.
