- BLEEDING KANSAS
- In 1854 a senator from Illinois presented an idea to give the states Kansas and Nebraska the opportunity to choose whether they would like to make slavery legal or not.
- As both states had to make the decision whether they decide to make slavery legal, many were angered and later due to this, there was a civil war which had changed the way United States treats slavery.
