History of Ideas: The Renaissance
Renaissance was the period during the Middle Ages in European history when most cultural, political, and economic changes were experienced in Europe hence the name “rebirth.” It generally took place in three hundred years, the period between the 13th and 16th centuries. The main focus of this essay is to analyze the video The Renaissance.
The video argues that, during the renaissance period, most of the western counties experience architectural development, political development, and the rise of the early philosophers. The video argues that the early philosophy and concern about “We’ was the key contributor to the rise of the renaissance period. Philosophers during the renaissance period followed the philosophies of Aristotle and the teachings of Christianity to develop new philosophical ideas (The School of Life). These philosophers also participated in research whose findings were significant in achieving the development done during the renaissance period. Lorenzo de Medici was one of the gifted businessmen who manage the business of his father. He used some of his money to promote healthcare. The Medici family made a lot of money from their banking business, which enabled them to support education for the scholar who had sown their interest in research and philosophy (The School of Life).

The narrator in the video used a favorite tone for historical narration. The pictures captured in the video also look historical, with the majority appearing in black and white. The primary theme color of the video is red, and the graphics captured makes it possible for the learners to understand its content easily. The transition of the pictures is nice because it goes hand in hand with the words of the narrator. One thing I like about the video is the background color, the historical pictures, and the sound of the narrator. The narrator is clear and observes the necessary tonal variation to make it well understood by the viewers. If I were to rate the video, I would give it four out of five because it is fairly good.
