How Does Meth Affect A Woman’s Desire?

Methamphetamine is the new drug that is known for its exponential ability to increase sexual desire in women. It has replaced cocaine, which was in the past known for its potency. Most stories from reformed women addicts describe meth as an aphrodisiac that causes uncontrollable sexual desire.

Meth is known to hold up orgasms, increase sex drive, enhance sexual performance, and cause a lack of self-consciousness in women. No other drug seems to have such a prolonged impact on women. It is because meth has a longer half-life. A study in 2009 revealed that about 60-70% of women users reported drug-induced sexual desire.

Also, meth is highly unlikely to cause sexual dysfunction during or before the performance. It is the reason it hooks people who seek wild, lustful, and prolonged sexual encounters.

So, how does it work? The drug makes a person uninhibited because it affects dopamine production. Dopamine is the pleasure chemical released by our brains when we eat, have sex, or use drugs. Other pleasurable activities or drugs release just a small dose of dopamine.

When it comes to meth, the dose increase five to six times the standard release, which throws our brains off-balance, and as pleasure-seeking beings, we seek more pleasurable experiences mostly through sex to have more dopamine release.

One user in one of the online forums describes the feeling as euphoric and the sex drive as animalistic. She could go to any lengths to have sex. She also could not inhibit herself from acts she typically avoided with strangers like unprotected anal sex or oral sex. She could stay in this state of lustfulness for up to half a day. That is until she decided to quit because, as she says, there was no intimacy.

The caveat, however, is brain deterioration, especially in women. Even after stopping, some parts of the brain never recover, especially the grey matter lost. And your overall wellbeing deteriorates. Lack of self-control also increases the chances of getting STDs among users and associated non-users.
