How motivation changes over time
Motivation has been an indispensable element in everyone’s life. Things that motivate us may be externally or internally generated to help someone execute something or partake a given decision. For instance, in all the developmental and growth stages of people, certain motives encompass existence, relations, and interaction between the individual and the environment around them. Nevertheless, as people grow, they experience different interests in life and would want to venture into almost each one of them. The movement to take a step and take part in it is influenced by how and residential areas a person is raised and who raises them. And similarly, that is also the case for me.
For instance, at a young age, simple things for children like presents such as charismas and birthday gifts would motivate an individual to fulfill promises asked upon by parents. In teenage life, being part of peer groups encourages teenagers in the performance of some personal and family goals. For example, most football teams have a majority of teenagers that either reside or school near each other (Wentzel, 2017). Moreover, in the early youthful life, which is the current stage I am in, setting and attainment of money and goals is a crucial motivator for almost every person. The focus to be successful in life controls the targets that youths have and cannot be defected by other factors. And from my studies, people aged above 24 years are only motivated by sociability and taking care of oneself (Fowler, 2019).
Therefore, time dictates how people behave towards certain principles and goals they have in life at the various stages of life. What motivates a teenager cannot and can never motivate a youth or even an adult. The changes in stages of life will determine what one wants to experience in full potential, with the most minimum hindrances to it (Berridge, 2018).
