How technology is hijacking minds
Introduction
Indent (CTRL TAB) According to Harris (2016), many concentrates optimistically on all things technology does for them. One of the way people are hijacked to technology as explained by Harris (2016) is by fear of missing something important. In his research (comma) he found that people subscribe to websites and apps to escape missing news. For me, I would agree with Mr. Harris not because he is an expert on this topic but what he has presented is the reality. For example, Hijack #6, I don’t think there is anybody who can object (lay your opinion only, don’t decide for others) this and almost every “Hijack” he has explained. Mr. Harris is not educating us on how to avoid being hijacked but on how to hijack minds as he hasn’t raised any technology con. I have an experience with first three Harris’s hijacks and most addictive is Hijack #2. The best way to relate to Harris ideas is using Hijack #2. Each time I switch bundles on; I must open a certain app to get updates and news and also log in to different sites checking for same thing. Harris’s idea makes sense as according to Rumens (2018) smart phones sales more than doubled in 2017 compared to 2012. Internet comma which is a collection of skills and knowledge constitute 6% of US economy (Rumens, 2018).He also shows a statistical graph of number of monthly active Facebook users worldwide, Facebook is a form of technology that emerged less than a decade ago. One fact that technology makes sense, as explained by Rumens, is most things are done online, one example given is shopping.
Conclusion
Technology is hijacking our mind as many people, evidence in Rumens (2018) graphical presentation on numbers of Facebook users, are looking for a new thing in the internet. More also, the number of users is increasing each year and new technology is created.
