How to identify internal managerial talents.
Talent management is a method used in organizations to be able to recruit and hire the best personnel relating to the required job features. With efficient employees, the company will be able to achieve its goals effectively. Different methods can be used to identify internal managerial talents: First of all, is through identifying dedication and commitment whereby the potential managers are assessed in terms of how they work and what their efforts yield in the long run. This kind of managers can go the extra mile for example by working overtime so as to ensure the success of the company, and they also have an ability to influence the rest of the employees towards achieving the desired goals (Cutt, Flynn, Mowl, (2012)
In addition, through assessing the potential manager’s character and personality. Character refers to the manager being responsible and his/her relation with the rest of the colleagues is appealing. Also, the manager should be a timekeeper and creative enough. In checking personality, the potential manager should show compassion, have an open mind and also be transparent. Lastly, through career planning, where the organization explores the skills and abilities of the potential managers available and ascertain the right person for the job. Career planning will help identify persons that can be able to convert their goals into action, and by these, it ensures the growth of the company as a whole (Forest, (2018)
The methods above will ensure that the company grows because though identifying a manager that is committed, of good character and personality that’s all a business, needs to offset achievement of desired goals and also through career planning its ability to give the organization direction for getting to their goals.
