ideas, theories, methods, or models relevant to supply chain strategy and design but not covered in the textbook or not sufficiently covered
The purposes of paper summaries are:1. To learn about ideas, theories, methods, or models relevant to supply chain strategy and design but not covered in the textbook or not sufficiently covered.2. To familiarize yourself with papers that have made significant contributions to supply chain management theory and practice that every supply chain management student should know.3. To familiarize yourself with supply chain management literature.PLEASE FOLLOW THESE GUIDELINES WHEN YOU WRITE YOUR SUMMARIES:1. Your summary should identify and summarize the most important ideas, theories, methods, or models discussed in the paper.2. Summary should be in your own words. It should not be an assembly of sentences from the paper. In other words, do not copy and paste sentences or paragraphs from the paper. It is permissible to quote veryfew sentences of the author(s) directly when it is absolutelynecessary. However, when you make a direct quote, the material should clearly be in quotation marks (“ “).3. Do not repeat examples given in the paper unless it is absolutely necessary.4. Focus only on what is in the paper; do not write about anything that is not in the paper. For example, you may have had some work experience that may be relevant to the topic of the paper, or you may want to relate the topic of the paper to something you’ve learned in another course, or another paper you have read: DON’T! These are distractions from the main purpose of paper summaries, avoid them. DO NOT write an essay about the paper, write just a summary.5. Reading a paper once is normally not enough to capture all the good ideas and grasp the significance of author(s)’ contribution. 6. Your summary must be typed, single spaced and should not exceed two pages.7. You must frequently check the ASSIGNMENTS folder on canvas for the next assignment.8. IGNORING THESE GUIDELINES WILL RESULT IN AN “UNACCEPTABLE” GRADE.
