Technology is growing every day. People have a new crazy definition, aspect, and angle when it comes to social media. Online platform for personal and business use. Affordances’ concept of these platforms derives from the point of architecture (Evans et al.,2017). Social media has a significant impact on the productivity of an employee and even the company itself. On a wrong angle, overuse of these online platforms; twitter, Instagram, facebook, snapchat, linked in, and youtube leads to wastage of time, thus leading to one producing low results.

Employee Productivity.

            The media platform is an excellent tool for work-related services. Frequent access to the online platform by employees working in the organization for long hours leads to low productivity. The more time spent on the internet for things not related to work, the work graph productivity tend to drop drastically (Lyncheski, 2010). Interactive activities in the media platform impact the core goals, vision, and mission of the company negatively. Social media misuse leads to the liability of an employer (Ayoung &Min, 2011).

The industry needs to have rules and regulations when it comes to social media, employer, and work. Social media can affect a company negatively or positively. So employees need to balance work and the internet. Globally, people tend to post pictures and videos in their private accounts. The Facebook platform, on its own, has over 600 million users (Hearing and Ussery, 2012). Some workers tend to believe that their media platforms are private.hence they use is anytime anywhere and cannot affect their work. Done research shows that those personal accounts have a significant impact on the current potential employer may describe and view you.

 

 The use of the

internet in some work areas is strictly prohibited. Prohibition passed out due to the misuse of the internet and the accompaniment of mixed feelings of employees using it. Recently, social media positivity outweighs the negative side. The internet has seen to take most people the mentality breakdown from the exhaustion of work. The internet has allowed people from different companies to make connections professionally. Social media is used by co-workers to make interactions to build better work-related relationships (Nevo and Kock, 2013).

Positively, social internet interactions have seen to affect the satisfaction and performance of the job. It has enabled workers to have a better balance of work life. Research showcases media use in working areas has high morale hence allowing the employees to take a break from mental from work (Bennett, Owers & Jasani, 2010). They are using social media, both the employer and the employee benefit. When the employee is in a good mood and happy, there is a drastic rise in productivity, and communication is more critical. The media platform also enables employees to communicate in their station; hence evidently, there is an increment of traditional stagnation voice forms (Budd, 2014).

Describe potential mistakes made when using social media in the workplace.

Companies tend to use these media platforms for marketing their companies. How employees present, their companies may affect it positively or negatively. Workers who use media search as facebook to post their photos or videos may tarnish the companies name. If a company is on the light may cause havoc or heated talks that can bring down the company’s name (Sonnenberg, 2009).
