Implementing sustainability considering the topic of low carbon and renewable energy

 Introduction

Newyork is among the biggest cities in the world; firstly, due to its vast development that has been undergoing. The city needs to be looked at with an angle that will help it have better sustainability measures that will help it to be sustainable in future developments. Through this measure, we are going to look at various impacts that will help in better sustainability of the city. Such actions will include such as low carbon, which mainly is brought out by the industries and also various machines in co-relation with various wastes that the residents of the city releases to the environment as they conduct their daily activities. Also, another issue that needs to be addressed is the installation of the renewable energy sources and out of these sources how they will help reduce the impact of non-renewable sources. Through embracing these two factors, we are also going to look at various effects that these factors will have on the climate changes, the demographic sector of the city, the demand for the resources, and also the typical building. The aim of this essay is to help us look at various sustainability measures that will help in the development and growth of the city.

How the case study could be made more sustainable in terms of carbon emissions, energy demand, human health or environmental impact

Carbon emissions are a significant factor that has impacted significant cities in the world, Newyork city being among the leading due to the meaningful activities that are experienced there. The primary source of this carbon emission is mainly brought out by the gasses released from the industrial sector, the machines used by people such as vehicles, and other traveling machinery (McKane et al. 2017). We also have waste products being released by the daily human activities that they do in their daily routine also causes the emergence of this carbon. But through the reduction of these carbon emissions and it can have a positive impact in both the environment and even it is surrounding. We are going to look at various effects that low carbon is going to have on multiple factors, as mentioned above. We also have renewable sources of energy; in the current generation, we have had many non-renewable sources of energy and which tend to be very expensive and also sustainable. But due to the growth of the city, we will have to look on various renewable sources of energy such as the solar power energy brought out by sun, wind turbines sources of energy brought out by the sun and also the geothermal sources of energy brought out by water sources (Johansson, et, al. 1993). Through making sure that such environmentally friendly sources of energy are implemented, it is highly evident that the city will be able to sustain itself even for the future generations to come. And out of these sources, they are going to affect the town positively in a unique way such that they will only bring positivity and high income for the city rather than the losses mainly brought out by the non-renewable sources (Kaldellis, 2007). In the discussion below, we are going to discuss various factors that will be profoundly impacted by both the renewable sources of energy and also low carbon emissions.

Beginning with the case of energy demand, energy is one of the significant essential sources required for a city to run effectively. This means that power must be there for a city to conduct its daily activities. Looking at the Newyork city, which is one of the busiest ports in the world, this means that it needs to run its operations both day and night, and during the night, there must be the accessibility of power, which is brought out by various sources of energy. According to my analysis and studies of this city, the energy that they have been using is non-renewable sources of energy, which means it is not renewable. It is must expensive in terms of installation and also in terms of maintenance. It is through this impact that we have decided to embrace the renewable sources of energy which require less space, low costs of installation, and also small maintenances meaning it is the most favorable that should be addressed for the of the city (Boyle, 2004). By installing renewable sources of energy such as solar power sources of energy, they would have less impact on the surrounding. This is because what this solar-powered energy requires is the only sun and also maintenance. The city is so overpopulated, and this is due to the development and even the construction of various building structures. This means that if these sources of energy were bulk, they would not have space for installation (Aghaei, 2013). But embracing solar power energy does not require a lot of space for installation; this is because most of the rooftops have fewer activities. Most of them have no activities being carried out there, and this gives the solar power gadgets to be installed on the roofs without any issues nor either disturbance to the surrounding (Mwasilu, 2014). Through this example of solar power energy, this describes how the renewable sources of energy could be highly valuable in both the environment and also the surrounding. These renewable sources of energy would not only be advantageous to the city, but even they would reduce the high costs being used for the installation of non-renewable sources and also in maintaining them (Poortinga, 2012).

Another factor is the environmental impact; the environment has been the primary topic that has been discussed many times. And this is not because of how it has been doing well, but it is due to the way it is being affected by the surrounding of the effects of human nature. This human nature has changed the environment in many ways, such as releasing the carbon emissions, which are mainly brought out by various waste products from the industries, the machinery such as the vehicles, and also human wastes (Zhang, 2015). Also, non-renewable sources of energy have primarily affected the environment. This is because there are various non-renewable sources of energy, such as the generators and other machinery that release gas emissions that affect the environment on a very high note. It is through this impact that if these emissions of carbon were reduced, then we could have low carbon affecting the Newyork city. This can be done by making sure that the activities did reduce working with those products produce by high carbon emissions, and also, we have made sure that they shift non-renewable sources of energy to renewable sources of energy (Bettle, et, al. 2006). This is because these renewable sources of energy have fewer gas emissions. In other words, they do not release gases. After all, they are produced directly from environmental causes such as sun, wind, and also water sources. This means that by making sure that low carbon is embraced, the city must be ready to shift gears in changing their usual ways of living to those that favor the environment and its surroundings. By ensuring these factors are made and followed to as per the guidelines, then this means that the city is at a high chance of changing to a healthy city (Ferreira, 2012). Another primary source of this carbon emission is from the vehicle. Through the recent technological innovations, this means that these innovations can be shifted to solving these problems facing the city. For example, we have cars that are being controlled and driven through charging, and also others are operated and managed through the use of solar energy. If this were mainly shifted to our city, then this means the is going to avoid this carbon emission. And the large part is that through the implementation of these factors that highly favor the environment. Then this means that the city is going to be free from the carbon emissions, and the most advantageous part is that they are going to reduce their low costs of daily usage in day-to-day to day activities.

Another factor is the human health; human health is the most crucial factor in ensuring that the city is undergoing and also running its daily activities. This means that the first obligation that should be looked at is to embrace those factors that provide that they are favoring the human to ensure that the city’s activities run smoothly and most efficiently. One of the significant effects that cause human health issues is the issue of carbon emissions, which results in respiratory disorders that considerably affect human health. This means that this carbon emission being brought out by the daily social activities need to be looked at severely and uniquely. Such as making sure the day-to-day operations being conducted are very suitable and relevant in making sure that they result in low carbon effects. Another factor that can also reduce these gasses that lead to high carbon in the air is by making sure people either reduce using the vehicles when coming to the city or either shift to this car that is electrically charged and have no effect on the environment. By ensuring this factor are adhered to, this means that they would not only have a profound impact on the environment but also they would be highly advantageous in making sure that each resident in the city is safe from this carbon emissions and can contribute to the city’s economic growth (Fabricant, 2002).

The technical potential of renewable energy and low-carbon

Due to the high growth of the city, we have seen that various issues have been affecting the city and its subjects either in terms of health issues or either in terms of economy. Regarding the case of carbon emissions, this means that the city needs to look at this issue in the and well pleasing way. For example, cars emit a lot of carbon, and due to this, the city must make sure they shift to vehicles that do not produce carbon, such as moving to those that are chargeable and also those that are solar driven. By doing this, it would reduce this carbon and also make it very favorable for the growth of the city. We also have the case of the non-renewable sources of energy; this has been another critical issue facing the city. And this issue of non-renewable sources of energy has made the city take shallow sources of income due to the high costs of installing these sources and also high maintenance costs. And this issue can be handled by making sure that the company shifts to the renewable sources of energy, which will have less effect on the city and also will be very favorable in making sure that the company runs smoothly and efficiently. For example, we have an installation of solar-powered sources of energy through this installation it would reduce the installation costs and also would impact the economy profoundly on a high positive note. This means that shifting gears to these renewable sources and also making sure that we have low carbon emissions would profoundly impact the growth of the city, and also it would make sure that the environment is free from harm.

Conclusion

In conclusion, it is well evident that this essay has critically addressed the factors that should be considered in making sure that the Newyork city is a sustainable city even in the future generations and developments to come. Secondly, the essay has gone further and has done a thorough discussion of those factors that should be considered. These factors ate, such as taking measures that consider low carbon emissions, and also another factor is bringing up renewable sources of energy as the primary sources of energy. Lastly, the essay has gone further and indicated how these factors, if they are implemented, how they are going to positively influence the growth of the city and also the people living in it. It is well evident that the essay has aimed at making sure that the city is sustainable for changing the current situations to future sustainable developments of Newyork city.
