Incidents of Inequality
Part 1
Scenario # 1: Sexual discrimination
Ms Sue was living with his host father. His host father had a behavior of staring at her body as well as making funny comments about how she looked and sometimes entering her room without her notice .He also hugged her as well to express his fondness something she could not tolerate any longer given that it was his host father doing that to her. She later moved out of the home and went to report the incident to a home stay agency .Unfortunately no action was taken.
The incident would likely to lower Ms Sue self esteem which might make her run away from home and seek other alternatives like early marriage.
The father on the other hand will be on risk of losing her child if she takes the route of running away from home. The home stay agency reputation will further be destroyed by the incident and people are likely to lose confidence on the institution.
Sexual harassment by father to a child has been taboo something which has never been allowed in a progressive society .A society with such kind of people with the behavior like of host father would result to an immoral society where the young women would have a feeling of fear. This kind of discrimination would label men in society as “animals” something which would degrade the morals that given society as a whole.
Scenario #2: Racial discrimination
Mr. Eric and his family had recently immigrated to Canada from Japan. His 12 year old son attending a local school in Canada is being called racist names and being bullied by his fellow classmates to the extent of being told to go home because he is from Japan. Mr. Eric has recently reported the matter to the school head but unfortunately no action was taken against this form of racial harassment hence the bullying has just been so intense.
This incident is likely to lower the self esteem of the young boy as well as deteriorate his performance in school .It can also make the boy drop out of school.
The school reputation will go down as well .Future admissions of foreign students would be limited if such behavior persists. It will further portray a bad image for the school. The bullying children will develop
This kind of racial harassment increases tension and a state of conflict in a society. It bars foreign people from being associated or coming to live in such a society.
