Industrial Revolution
While the industrial revolution had both positive and negative effect, the positive effects outweigh the negative. The industrial revolution was beneficial especially because it led to economic growth. It transformed the national economy and led to new prospects for the nation. The occurrence of the revolution led to the transformation of many jobs and therefore individuals would take advantage of these work opportunities (Harley, 2018).The national capacity grew tremendously during this particular period and this was a major advantage. It is also important to understand that the industrial revolution led to the growth and expansion of cities thus encouraging urbanization. The occurrence of the industrial revolution led to the movement of many people to the cities especially in search for jobs and therefore made many cities to expand.Modernization began to occur as the cities developed and improved to match the needs of the growing population.
Apart from urbanization, the industrial revolution also led to globalization. Nations began to trade with each other as national economies grew and they began to produce surplus goods as well as services. It led to more employment opportunities for individuals across different cities and nations as well. The industrial revolution also led to the development of a consumer based market as production increased (Harley, 2018).People were able to create markets for the various products that were produced and individuals had a wide variety of goods and services to choose from in the market. The industrial revolution was a major economic boost both nationally as well as internationally and it had a major role to play in the development of America as a nation as well as the expansion of globalization. It was hugely beneficial and its positives are considerable more than its negatives.
