Information System Security Policy
The information system of an organization is a very vital part of the organization as it contains data and information that might be confidential for the organization. Due to its importance, it is essential to ensure that the system is well protected. In a school scenario where a student with access to the system is leaving the school, it is crucial to ensure that he or she does not go with any software or hardware of the school (Johnson, 2015). Secondly, it is essential to deactivate his or her login credentials and deactivate his or her account to prevent them from unauthorized use of the system, which might be risky.
The student who was an assistant to the teacher or worked in the lab or library had access to the school’s system, and if he or she is allowed to leave the school with the logins and credentials, it might result in leakage and threat to the system (Johnson, 2015). The school’s system administrator needs to ensure that he or she deactivates the student’s privileges in the system to prevent him or her from accessing it ever again to avoid system sabotage. Also, it is essential to keep on updating the system’s security periodically for enhanced security.
