Synopsis
“Inside the living body” is a video prepared by the national geographic examining “everywoman” body to give an insight into the functioning and the workings of all living beings. It reveals exclusive outlooks on the growth and development of a human from infancy, puberty, adulthood and eventually the old age. The video utilizes 3D skills in making a documented ninety-six minutes step analysis of a woman’s life for eighty years. An infant is born in traditional delivery a scene that promptly turns into complex tubes of the digestive system. Given the ideologies held by the modern psychology of self-actualization, the character turns into drug abuse at the age of twenty. The transition of pictures is linked to the actual implication of the message as the images of damaged lungs are down-turning. Again the video is emphatic on the connection of growth stages to explain the development. It is for instance seen that an infant’s retina is insensitive to colors other than black and white. At the age of 2 months, it can distinguish colors and at 4 months it can recognize facial patterns. The age of twenties is characterized by changes around decision making: social life and love life. The old age is eventually more of deformation of cells and other body parts thus an eventual death.

The transition of a teen into a young adult at the age of 20 is interesting, besides entailing amazing changes. The body is at this stage four times the height at the infancy. Contrary to what many might think, the new developments result from a series of DNA replication in a cloning system that is indiscriminate of imperfections. It is further claimed that copies of an aspect are done at least 35 times in a lifetime thus increasing the intensity of the duplicated trait. A closer analysis depicts a repetition of the infancy traits like poor eyesight at an old age. As the growth process of an infant is gradual, so is the death rate of the elderly person’s cells resulting in eventual death. Understanding the growth and development process is essential in a psychology scholar since they are equipped with what to expect after analysis.
