Internal and External Factor Evaluation of Walt Disney Company
Summary of the Findings
Generally, the internal factor evaluation (IFE) is a tool that businesses use to evaluate their strengths and weaknesses to establish the rate at which they are effectively performing. The evaluation identified ten strengths and ten weaknesses of the Walt Disney Company. Weights that total to one and Ratings of 1-4 (1-major weakness, 2-minor weakness, 3-minor strength, 4-major strength) was assigned to the strengths and weaknesses. The weighted score of 2.50 shows that Walt Disney’s performance is averagely effectiveness. As such, the company still has greater opportunities to explore and transform its weaknesses into strengths and bolster the practicability of its existing strengths. External Factor Evaluation (EFE) is applicable is examining a company’s external environment to reveal the extent to which it responds to opportunities and strengths. The weighted score of 3.34 shows that Walt Disney has above-average ability to respond to external factors. It can easily use its opportunity to offset the impending threats, thereby achieving outstanding performance.
