Introduction to research method 3rd meetings.
Last week we talk about research problem which is the question about project or object that we currently handle, and it should be answered to find the result of the object or project we work on, the answer itself should clear and believe to be accurate like the answer should be direct and still on topic. There is some characteristic of a good research problem. The first thing is that the question should be clearly and indicated, which mean the question should be easy to understand, and the point should be standstill to the object. Also, it has a purpose to make the problem easier to answer and will achieve the goal of researching. The second thing is that the variable should be measurable. Like and IQ with Gender is measurable, but the measurement is different. We cannot make a research question by comparing them because the variables were different, IQ measuring the correlation while Gender measuring the differences. The third is the question should indicate or match between variables and design. Like, every variable has a different design so we must know this thing before we make a question from it like it’s relevant or not. The fourth is the question should meet or match with the law of the object, in other words, the question should not break the law of the object. The fifth is the question is based in our interest which is question should meet our interest to make the researcher find out the answer easier other than difficulty and achieve the goal, for example, we’re currently in English language teaching so the answer will keep on this range or this topic to make ourself easier to solve the problem or support us to make any characteristic about good question. The sixth is the question need to be analysis first then we can continue to find the answer, to make a good question must obtain something through analysis if the problem has come without analysis it can mean that the problem is not good enough to continue. The last characteristic is the question gives theoretical and practical contribution. If we research on something is already discovered which still has a chance to change in the future or change by the time. And the practice is like the student and teacher will find a new treat or improvement in the learning process. These are the characteristic of what the proper question is if we want to conduct research one of the important things is making the question, and we should follow this to make an excellent achievement or goals in research
