issues of racism in US
Racism, although very ignorant, is very present in our world. In the United States, racism has been an ongoing issue for a long time. To this very day, issues of racism exist within the country, towards religion, race, and skin color, factors that don’t define a human whatsoever. Ignorance is present however not only in the United States, but the rest of the world as well.
I come from Kuwait, a small country in the Gulf with a population of 4.053 million, with expats accounting for about 70% of the population (World Bank). The reason I mention expats, is due to racism.
After witnessing racism in the states, I decided to look at racism in my backyard. I realized, that I was so blind to the racism, that exists in my country. Racism in my country, targets mostly expats. Expats, who are in the country looking to make a living, and fulfill the needs of the Kuwaiti population.
This has influenced many factors, such as the social life for the expat, healthcare, labor rights, pay, and other factors.
Factors in my paper that I will want to look at:
- Healthcare, Jaber Hospital case.
- Labor Rights
- Parliament Member Opinions (Saf’a Alhashem)
- Islam Actual Teachings (how they oppose this racism)
- How do I help?
