Job advertisement and my experience in supporting, collaborating, and coordinating various activities
I am writing in response to the job advertisement seeking to recruit an intact case manager to provide in-home services to identify service needs while assessing family and child safety. From the provision of skills and services to families and individuals in need of the interactions with professions from different disciplines, the background has prepared me to excel in this field, thereby making me a good match for the position. The ability to interact and establish trusting relationships, alongside my excellent communication and leadership skills, adequately position me to thrive in this position. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor’s in Social Work at Indiana Wesleyan University with a cumulative GPA of 3.49 to date. Before that, I have undertaken an Associate in Arts-Sociology/Social Work and Associate in Applied Science-Human Services at Lake Land College. For the two courses, I attained GPAs of 3.860 and 3.553, respectively. I have gained experience through student internship programs and work opportunities at various facilities. I have served as an intern at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health System and The Pavilion and performed roles such as auditing patient charts, discharge planning, stocking product shelves, and filing patient’s product orders, among other things.
From 2018 to date, I work at Carle in the capacity of a patient service representative responsible for:
- Courteously greeting patients upon arrival of appointments;
- Checking patients in/out for appointments;
- Answering incoming telephone calls;
- Processing incoming referrals to specialty clinic from internal/external providers; and
- Opening/closing office to include balancing a cash drawer.
Since November 2010 to October 2018, I worked at Lincolnland Home Care/Hospice, as a scheduler and my roles and responsibilities included:
- Offering general support to the field staff;
- Courteously answering incoming calls on a multiline phone system;
- Preparing daily work schedules for 25 field staff nurses;
- Scheduling patients, nurses, home health aide, and social work frequencies;
- Reviewing hospital census to look for current home health patients; and
- Working closely with are colleges nursing programs to schedule student clinicals.
