Koch Industries
Leonard’s argument is that the Kochs had an influence in capitalism and it is an American sleeping giant. He also says that while talking about the American economy you are simply talking about Koch Industries.
The corporation is so diverse that it touches on almost all spheres of the economy. For example the company refines and distributes gas that citizens use in their cars. Also Koch manufactures fertilizer used in planting, and thus everyone that eats is involved with the corporation.
Koch Industries is a massive polluter and like it is expected they are supposed to be regulated by the government by it has not happened. In 2009 a bill that was to regulate emissions pollution in America was drafted by the Obama administration. What they did not know was that Koch Industries came up with inducements for the republicans and threatened those who refused the incentives. Koch has a lobbying shop known as American for prosperity meters away from the white house. The company has sponsored many political movements such as the Tea Party so that they can achieve their influence objectives.
I buy the argument because this is a company that influences all the sectors of the country be it social, economic or political. It is a company that will do anything for example, bribe and threaten political leaders to oppose bills which are essential to the American people. This corporation will use any means to be the leader in a capitalist nation.
