KODAK – What went wrong?
The strategic decisions taken by Kodak several years ago have been well documented and the subject of much debate and academic and practitioner analysis.
Requirements
- Carefully read the Case study provided – this will give you a good, although a little dated (2009) understanding of the background to Kodak’s demise.
- Conduct some additional research to determine what has happened more recently, and what actions the Company took to ensure its survival.
- Select ONE of the three questions at the end of the case.
- Based on the case study material, AND your further research prepare a report that:
- a) Answers the question that you have selected [unique_solution]
- b) Evaluates the new strategic direction that the company has adopted and identifies any potential future strategic issues/problems that may impede the company’s future success.
To do well in this assessment, you will need to conduct significant additional research, and also show some creativity in interpreting the requirements and preparing your report.
Remember that this is a post graduate Unit, and an appropriate standard of analysis, grammar, and presentation is expected.
Word limit: Your report should be around 900 words, excluding cover page, appendices, references etc.
