Leadership and Personality

According to the Myers-Briggs personality test, I am in the group of ENTJ, Extroverted, Intuitive, Thinking, and Judging. I am, therefore, a decisive natural leader. I am analytical, efficient, and hardworking. People with ENTJ personality focus their energy outwards.

ENTJ personalities have a preference for focusing on the future instead of focusing on the present. They are interest in theoretical and abstract information rather than concrete details. Their decision making is based on objective and logical information. They do not significantly factor emotions and personal feelings of others. They are planners and usually work with schedules wish gives them a sense of control and predictability.

ENTJs and Leadership

ENTJs make generally make good leaders because of their innate ability to direct groups of people. They are hard workers and self-driven. Motivated, energetic, assertive, and confident while at the same time, they are competitive. They are influential and organized, which makes them great managers and organizational and supervisors leaders.

ENTJs strive to do things the right way to achieve the set goal. They excel in positions where they can direct people and mobilize them towards common objectives. This trait makes them great CEOs and great team leaders. ENTJs can benefit from developing people skills in the workplace.

Their extroversion helps them to take the initiative when around people. Their intuitive abilities help them to be creative and analyze complex situations and provide solutions. Leadership requires stability to make decisions that are not based on emotions. The thinking ability of ENTJ, therefore, is a striking aspect of leadership. They are great at directing peoples and helping groups to complete stacks. They can quickly see what needs to be done, develop a plan of action, and assigning roles. They are, therefore, great department leaders and managers.

ENTJs are also great social leaders due to their extroverted nature; they can interact with many different people. They have excellent communication skills which help them to pass their ideas and get a following of many people. Do best in careers where there is a lot of structure, but plenty of room for variety. Jobs that allow them to meet and interact with lots of different people are ideal. People with this type bring a lot of desirable skills to the table, including excellent leadership and communication skills, a hardworking attitude, and an ability to plan for the future

I can relate these personality traits to my personality. The ability to guide others, supervise, and ability to see needs to be done even when nobody else notices. I gladly take up leadership roles and develop actin plan s for the achievement of goals.

Myers-Briggs profiles and the Big Five personality types of best leadership personalities

I consider Myer-Briggs ENTJ and INHJ to be the best MBTI leadership personalities. An ENTJ personality primarily focuses on external aspects, and all things are dealt with rationally and logically. The second mode of ENTJ personality is internal, where intuition and reasoning play. These are very critical qualities of a great leader.

ENTJ minds are filled with possibilities. The view challenges as opportunities to achieve higher levels of success. Their extroversion (E) and makes them outgoing and quick to take the initiative. Their intuitive (N) gives them creativity and the ability to analyze complex situations and information. Thinking (T) aspect of their personality enables them to apply logic when making decisions as opposed to the use of feelings. Also and ENTJ is naturally judging (J), which helps them to be organized and disciplined.

INFJ personalities are compassionate due to their abilities to identify with other people’s feelings. Also, they are charismatic and generous, which makes them great leaders. They are more like ENTs in the use of intuition to analyze complex information, but they are better with conflict resolution. They are, in many cases, carrot than stick type of leaders and want to win their approval and follow them. They are open to asking for help in making decisions than the NTs, which helps them when faced with difficult situations. They are the type of leaders that are loved by people.

The big five personality that I associate with great leadership is openness. This personality factor is linked to intelligence. These types of characters have an open-minded way of viewing issues. This gives them exceptional abilities to use information in solving problems. They are flexible and welcoming to new ideas. INFJ not just are they good leaders, they make leaders people love

The personality of Martin Luther King

Martin Luther King is an example of a leader with the Myer Briggs INFJ personality. Martin Luther was an introvert; although his actions were outward-facing, he took direction and inspiration form his inner calling. The calling of martin Luther drew attention to the evil of racism and class discrimination in the United States. He was a leader who shared his inner thoughts and ideas with others to guide them in following his dream.

His Intuitive personality was seen in his ability to focus on the future possibilities of a united nation. His intuition made him possess a foresight that was unpopular and was considered radical at his time. Even in the most challenging moments, he still held onto his faith in the future.

The feeling personality of Martin Luther King helped him to connect with people in a way many leaders are not able to. His intense feeling personality identified with the suffering caused by racial and class discrimination. He harnessed his emotions to express them through speeches that inspired people across the nation and the world. He was able to connect with the feelings of his listeners actively and convincing them to empathize with others. He displayed emotional intelligence long before he was defined. His approach of addressing discrimination issues was empathetically and moral but slow. A thinking personality would have preferred a faster method, such as violence.

Concerning his judging personality, martin Luther king was a methodical person. His was diligence in his Couse. He spent a great half of his life organizing and planning for human rights campaigns against a world that was filled with many tremendous obstacles. He designed and decided on the cities where his campaign would be conducted to produce the most significant impact.

Concerning the big five personality traits, Martin Luther King had a character of openness, agreeableness, and neuroticism. His openness was seen in his imaginative speeches about a future he had so much faith. He imagined for a future with no racial or class discrimination, and he championed for it till his death. Neuroticism was seen in his ability to handle emotional challenges. He had a high level of emotional intelligence, which enabled him to communicate with his listeners across the United States. His agreeableness was seen in his compassion for the discriminated black people in the United States of America. He was empathetic and preached to his followers to treat others with empathy.
