Leadership Memo
Subject: Requesting Restoration of Executive Education Budget Allocation
Need for supporting and committing resources to the executive education program.
I humbly write to you in light of the recent developments concerning the organization budgetary cuts across the departments. I acknowledge the fact that Zendal Pharmaceutical is in a hard financial period, and it needs to reduce its department’s expenditure. However, as the Vice President of the Human Resource feel that the 75% budgetary cut in my department means no financial support for the program’s initiatives (Kesner, 2003). The department has excellent and is a central unit to the success of the organization. And the result of its immense advantages contributes to the success and productivity of organization deals with the workforce. I believe that even as the COO and Vice President of administration, you are aware of its integral role in the department, thus necessitating its funding and not the reduction of organization support financially.
As a way of quantitatively demonstrating the enormous contribution of the department and the integral role that warrants its financial support, I wish to address the following critical points concerning the importance of the department.
- The department reinforces Stocks’ three prolonged enhancing acquisition.
- Build closer ties between Zendall business units and creates a more unified global
- It enables the integration of the workforce.

The cut makes it impossible to initiate the in house leadership program to which you had pledged support. As leaders of the institution, you are well aware and acquitted with the importance of having leadership skills education. The program not only equips leaders with the relevant skills through training, but it also builds a culture of organizational skills in Zendal Pharmaceuticals through nurturing top leadership and upcoming leaders in the organization. I would like as well to bring to your attention the enormous contribution of having a culture of organizational leadership skills. Through the right leadership, the workforce gets motivated, boosting their capabilities and productivity by ensuring that they are well satisfied in their units since workforce job satisfaction enhances efficiency and productivity in business (Zenger & Folkman, 2019, pg. 44). It is the concern of the global market among its employees, making them exploit different leadership skills to facilitate employees’ satisfaction and motivation.
It is, however, my concern and fear that the basis of cutting the budget in my department since the acquisition of Premier has led to the reduction of sales due to recession and that the program is only a waste of resources through your reply is not true (Kesner, 2013). The reason for the Zendall not doing well is its lack of incorporating and integrating the two company’s workforce since the takeover has recorded an increase in the company by a third (Kesner, 2013). Also different from your assumption of the executive education program as a corporate retreat, the program provides a platform for educating the leaders and the workforce on the global issues and right practices in the organization. Therefore I believe there is a need to allocate a substantial amount of the budget for the executive education program to promote effective leadership enabling the workforce and, most importantly, the management team to gain diverse knowledge and exposure and global needs for increased productivity. I cannot agree more with Zenger and Folkman (2019, pg 40) when they attach the importance of improving the leadership skills in an organization since they affect the profitability ability of the organization through increasing productivity and quality.
The vast number of workforce and the recent takeover also adds the workforce was putting the need for having the right and necessary and sufficient leadership skills in guiding the operations of the company, which can only be obtained and proficiently trained through the executive education programs. The company needs to create a culture of training and organizational leadership skills through such programs, and it is my humble appeal that you give the request a considerate and unbiased thought to realize the enormous advantages of financing the program in the company.
Though the economy faces a recession, I believe that the possible way to ensure the success of the business is through maintaining its competitive advantage in the market. Which can only be driven by the workforce who need to be motivated and satisfied in their works to increase productivity and quality products through encouraging innovation, which is a result of having the efficient leadership skills culture in an organization? It is indeed beneficial in having a long-run objective of the company in mind while making decisions about the department finances. The economic situation necessitates the current resolution, but the long-run effect is that the company would lose its competitiveness. The short-run measure will reduce expenditure but also delimit the organization in so many broader aspects. For instance, the cut has made it impossible for my department to launch the in-house leadership development program, which would become very useful in collaborating among the department and across the workforce. With these few insights that I believe can change the situation and encourage future growth of the company, I humbly insist on the restoration of the department’s budget allocation leadership training. By so doing, I believe the financial situation of the company would become changed and increase productivity through employee satisfaction and motivation.
