Task desсrіption Research 4 topics from your learning in LMDP to date and write about these in the context of your own organisation. For each topic include the following: • What your organisation does well and does NOT do well in relation to the topic • An argument, about what needs to change in your organisation, as a result of your research. Your argument should clearly state the reasons why. • What are the benefits of change for your organisation? • What are the risks if your organisation does not implement these changes? Next, provide a list of clear and specific recommendations (based on your research) that you would give the CEO of your organisation to implement. • Argue how you will ensure that your recommendations will happen • Present a compelling, well researched and argued Conclusion (not a summary). How to approach the task • Review the topics we have covered so far in LMDP – Including Readings, Text, Slides. Your facilitator may have recommended some other readings, websites and articles. • Conduct good research and briefly outline the theory and any specific frameworks of the LMDP topics covered so far – choose 4 topics. • [unique_solution]Then, critically apply the theories and frameworks you have researched on the 4 topics you have chosen, to your organisation. BACKGROUND The assignment is about YOUR ORGANISATION. If currently you DO NOT WORK for an organisation, then choose any publicly listed company. e.g. Qantas, Banks, Pharmaceuticals, Mining, Coles, Woolworths etc. Additional notes: • Many organisations will send you material if you cannot find it on their website. • Past students have used LinkedIn to make contacts and interviewed them. • 16 students obtained jobs at other organisations as a result of this assignment. • The people they interviewed were impressed with the student’s ability to ask good questions about the chosen topics, the in-depth research they conducted and the ability to listen. • 10 students submitted their recommendations (from this assignment) to their senior manager and got higher appointments. Therefore, use this assignment as an opportunity to create something. • 6 students found ways to save money and resources; implement better ways of doing tasks. They saved their companies between 80K – 140K; as a result of this assignment. Good preparation and research are the secret to this assignment.
