“Romeo and Juliet” is a play by Shakespeare that was written in the 16th century. Romeo and Juliet are the two main characters in the play who are supposed to be fierce enemies at the start. However, Romeo and Juliet fall in love instead. Love, hate, and destiny are the major themes in the play, and the complex nature of these feelings contributed to the death of Romeo and Juliet.

Love, hate, and destiny played a critical role in the death of Romeo and Juliet. Both romantic love and family love are portrayed in Shakespeare’s play (Singh, 2018). Romeo falls in love with Juliet during their first meeting. Romeo describes his love with Juliet as true love. The two partners allow love to override other essential life values, which contribute to their downfall. After the death of Romeo, Juliet commits suicide so that he can reunite again with his loved one in death. Hatred was the root cause of death for Romeo and Juliet. Hatred among community members is prevalent in the modern days, and the vice causes death and suffering. Montagues and Capulets family members hate each other. The two families believe that hatred between them is part of their life. When Juliet realizes that she loves Romeo, who is from the conflicting family, she suffers in silence. Tybalt’s hatred towards Romeo causes him to kill Romeo. Therefore, out of hatred, Romeo is killed, and consequently, Juliet poisons herself. Destiny has the power to control the future of a person. Romeo and Juliet come from two conflicting families. However, destiny brings them together, which exposes Romeo to conflicts from the opposite family resulting in the death of both Romeo and Juliet.

In conclusion, love, hatred and destiny and complex feelings that caused the death for both Romeo and Juliet. Because of love, Juliet decided to commit suicide after her husband’s death. Destiny had brought Romeo and Juliet together. Therefore, love, hate, and destiny are to blame for the death of Romeo and Juliet.
