Introduction

Over the last five years, the hotel industry has been affected by the merging and acquisition of different hotel companies. The Marriott merger with Starwood hotel and the result opened the chance to the newly formed company to take the lead in the market. Currently, the company formed is said to have the most comprehensive global footprints through the use of its extensive loyalty programs. The following paper is my review of the current state of the Marriott international resulting from the recent annual report; I will focus mostly on the changes that occurred in the hotel performance at the global level. After the hotel, Starwood put itself up for sale in 2015 April it Marriott win the bid for 13.6 billion in September 2016.

The change positively impacted the stockholders every one received $21 cash and 0.8 shares of the new company ,the hotel proceeded to move the Starwood hotel brands a transaction which cost over $140 the brands include, St Regis, Sheraton, element, also among others as they were transferred after the hotel got new ownership.

Combination of the two hotel loyalty brands after the acquisition resulted to the main programs including Marriot rewards and The Starwood Guest program such as Ritz Carlton were the performing well in the industry. Marriott is said to have had a creation of a new website with the aim of helping the customer to be able to navigate the changes of the landscape.

Marriott has been classified with different brands including, more extended stays, premiums, the classic luxury, which is making the company ever competitive and the best in the market. I t has over 57000 properties (Whitmore,2018).Both hotels are believed to have had a culture clash, but instead, the company is celebrating the 500000 associates. This merger has shown an education in market competition; customers get pleased with more significant venue options and doubling the rewards.

In 2018 the Marriot was notified of a case that involved insecurity, and this was an attempt to accessing the Starwood guest reservation database. This was taking place in new york, but the company provided a solution instantly. The company has set a web chapter to ensure that guests have access to enroll with the monitoring of internet sites(Neibauer,2019).The company unveiled all its brands towards making one brand Marriott Bonvoy, and this was a traveling program developed to make extra life ordinary and the global brands are pro over 130 states and territories.

Marriott has shown interest in transferring it points to SPG airline its points programs so that it remains active. More than ten airlines have demonstrated the importance of partnering with the hotel. The merge between the two hotels is expected to increase the Marriotts, credit card. As explained in the annual report, it is evident that we have new cards reach, such as American Express,and chase.SPG, which had partnered with Starwood, is going to offer a guest American express luxury credit card to acquire many profits. The SPG and SPG business holders are going to get many benefits from the new Marriot reward premier plus credit card aiming at getting 100,000 points sign (Whitmore,2018).

Marriott International, Inc. 2018 Annual Report ,(2019), states that   Starwood guest reservation was increased by November 2018 by 383 million reserved guest records. There was an increase of almost over 48 percent of its earning in 2018.net income increased by 38 percent while there was revenue of $2.2 billion. This was expanded as per the room revenue. The Marriott global footprint enhanced by 1.3 million as compared to 2017repert(Burks,2019).There were over 125 million clients all over the world by the end of 2018.many people joined  Marriot Bonv members .

Generally, I tend to believe that Marriott international inc. In the most perfuming hotel in the accommodation industry. The merge with Starwood intended to reach out all over the world with the application of different objective4sand goals in the market as this would make them competitive in the Market. It is important to note that the hotel is having the future of becoming the best and successful and moving to other parts of the world as time goes on.
