Personal Achievements
I would like to pursue Masters in Data Science. I completed Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science in 2011. I am currently working as a software tester.
I decided to pursue Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science because of my love for information technology and science. It is through the course that I have managed to develop analytical skills which is crucial for management and in doing future projects. The course focused on elements such as oriented programming, systems object, database management, operating systems and research. It is through the topic of operation research that I acquired problem solving skills using mathematical optimization, statistical analysis, and mathematical modeling
I selected Soft Computing subject during my last semester, which enabled me understand better evolutionary computation, machine learning, and business intelligence. The subject also enabled me to acquire skills in probabilistic reasoning. The reasoning skills combined with problem solving skills, enabled me to improve my capabilities of applying scientific knowledge when predicting the future outcome. I also learnt data mining and data warehousing that stores historical and current corporate data via extract transform and load (ETL) processes. I could then manage to analyse information scientifically to predict accurately.
I am currently a software tester whereby I tackle interface problems, poor performances, and bugs in software before its comprehensive implementation. The ability to work in a job setting has enabled me to become more social with people, thus easier to seek help from my colleagues when experiencing a problem. I could, definitely say that there has been an improvement with interpersonal skills.
I discovered the need to learn advanced scientific data analytical techniques to extract relevant researchcould be considered when making business decisions. The particular interest slowly structured my plans of doing Masters in Data Science that is tailored towards solving problems using both qualitative and quantitative methods to enhance decision making expertise. My interest was premeditated and executed well, thus paves way for my career objective to become a data scientist. I would, thereafter, wish to work in a consultancy company whose responsibilities would include employing several programming statistical and mathematical methods.
