Mexico Border Wall

The United States Mexico border wall is a vertical barrier that is intended to aid in the security of the United States. The wall is of significant importance since it will curb several security threats in the United States. This is because the wall will make sure that only the authorized people, goods, and vehicles get inside the territories of the United States. This paper will discuss the intended purpose, importance of the wall, and the criminal activities that the wall will wipe out.

The US Mexico border wall is built to prevent illegal immigration (Casey, 2014). The barrier is mainly aimed at stopping the unlawful crossing of people from Mexico to the United States of America. Due to a large number of immigrants in the United States, it is necessary to build the wall because it will prevent the entry of illegal immigrants. The wall is supposed to serve its purpose by being an obstruction to the entrance of the immigrants. This structure will, therefore, make it difficult for them to cross over to the territories of the United States. The wall also will work by dispatching the United States Border Patrol to the points where there are suspected crossings by the immigrants. This is through the surveillance equipment and cameras that are in the wall; therefore, they will detect any movement and convey the information.

Building the US Mexico border wall will cost the country a lot of money. This is because the estimated budget will be 5.7$ billion to fund the project (Goddad, 2019). Although the project is costly, it is worth it because it will help curb the problem of immigration. This is because the previous border barriers were able to reduce the cases of immigration despite being simple structures. It is then clear that building a wall will work since it is more advanced. This is because the wall will have more technological sophistication than the first fences. The cameras and other surveillance will be crucial in making it effective by capturing any suspicious movement by the people and informing the police. The technology in the wall will, therefore, be an essential factor which will make it very useful.

The US Mexico border will also aid in curbing other forms of crime. The smuggling of goods and human trafficking will be dealt with by the wall. This is because the wall is tall enough to become a significant obstruction which will prevent the products from passing across the border. It will also ensure that the people getting across the border to the United States do so in a legal manner. This, therefore, will ensure that only legitimate goods and people get into the territories of the United States. Through the surveillance equipment and the cameras; also, the drug trafficking into the United States will come to an end. This is because the surveillance equipment and the cameras will spot any move into the borders and alert the border patrol. The patrol will, in turn, be able to get them before they get the drugs across the border.

The US Mexico border wall will be more effective if the wall is supported by technology and more strict laws. The wall should have surveillance equipment and cameras. This is because the equipment will spot and also record any illegal acts. The equipment also will give prior information to the patrol police to be alert in case anyone is trying to get across the wall. Strict laws also should be put in place as this will scare away anyone trying to breach it. By doing both, the effectiveness will be boosted, and the problems will be curbed.

The idea of building the wall along the border of the United States and Mexico is of great benefit to the country. This is because on erecting this wall, immigration will become a thing of the past. Smuggling and human trafficking into the country will also be forgotten since only the people with legal documents will get into the country. Despite the high cost of building it, the state should invest in it because of its effectiveness.
