modern medical interventions
While modern medical interventions have been working towards reducing mortality rates and increasing life expectancy alongside the elimination of infectious diseases, cases of obesity have increased more than before. Childhood obesity, declared a chronic noncommunicable epidemic, has raised concerns among people. Today it seems that obese children grow into obese adults and later raise obese children. One of the leading causes of obesity is the diet that the children consume. They consume fatty and sugary foods that negatively affect their body weights. However, genes inheritance and lack of exercise significantly contribute to this. These causes lead to negative impacts on health like foot pain, heart diseases, diabetes, and psychological disorders due to stress and anxiety. These might also have further future implications like dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. All these impacts can be resolved from a personal level without medical intervention. This would involve schools, healthcare providers, governmental and non-governmental organizations coherently working together for the good of the society. Education on childcare should be available to all about the primary caregiving of infants. Above all, policies of incorporating co-curricular sessions that teach children healthy feeding habits and weight loss and management should be further enacted. However, children should be encouraged to actively take part in physical activities that burn excess fat leading to the release of the consumed energy. Parents should also encourage their kids to play outside the house, and even walk them to school as part of daily exercise. While medicine has been greatly relied upon, people question its efficiency in dealing with obesity. Some experts say that investing in medicine is a tedious work that makes life more complicated than it should be. The bottom line is, we can create a more healthy world through the elimination of obesity caused by our lifestyle choices and biological factors which lead to adverse health impacts
