First, create a worksheet that will, in turn, identifies various columns using header rows. Then go to the Data tab and find sort and filter group. The next step is to click the filter button. Dropdown arrows will appear in each of the columns in the worksheet. After that, find the column you want to filter and click on the dropdown arrow, and the filter menu appears. Uncheck the boxes next to the data you don’t want to view. Check all the tables of the information you want to see. Lastly, click ok to filter (Hartshorn, 2016). Open your excel worksheet for which you wish to clear filters. Then click the dropdown arrow on the column heading. Lastly, click clear filter from the column name.
Filtering can be used as an analysis to compare prices of items, tax rates, color, among others, which can help the business to prosper in terms of profitability. Another example is it helps in decision making such that many companies can track the products and profits and help them to make a final decision on business plans.
