Most university and college students are usually prompted to write assignments or assignments using a specific writing style. APA essays take the traditional five-paragraph format that includes an introduction, body paragraphs, and a compelling conclusion at the end of the paper. The author introduces the topic of discussion in the first section by explaining the background information about their subject. Please note that the first sentence of an APA essay is not indented like the rest of the paper.
The author states the relevance of the topic in the introduction paragraph and draws a thesis statement at the end to ascertain their argument. The author must back their claims with information from reliable sources. APA in-text citations require the author to enclose direct quotes from their sources in parenthesis and italicize the text. However, the quotations should not take more than four lines of the paragraph, as this displays incompetent research skills.

Students must use relevant arguments to show their supervisors that they conducted thorough research before presenting their ideas in writing. You should also include your personal views to illustrate how you interpret the issue. If you are paraphrasing a text from your source, adhere to the standard APA guidelines and write the author’s last name followed by the publication year in brackets. If you are mentioning a source with many authors for the first time, mention all their names. When specifying the source for the second time, only write the name of one author followed by the phrase ‘et al.’
