My best Television program is the wire I frequently watch s this program and in this article I will discuss the stereotype of the different characters in the show. The show comprises both the African and white characters from different fields in life .Politician characters are also ventures in the show.
The characters in this show preferably black have negative stereotypes. They play good and bad stereotype in the show as shown below. For instance Bubbs has a surprising character from being heroin addict and leads to his sister lets him cope up in the house. Stringer bell depicted negative stereotype he was a drug peddler and at the same time using them. Finally he portrays a positive stereotype as he was trying to get out of the game and had bigger ambitions than just selling drugs but he got conned by a crooked politician. This politicians depicted negative stereotype they conned the African. Omar was a criminal though he had a strong moral code he refuses to hurt anyone not involved in the game. This African had negative stereotype but also having some good ethics. Omar himself whom is pictured in this show was much more than a thug .The captain for most of the show and other political figures shows positive pretty, stereotype.
The white characters were portrayed bad stereotypes McNulty was a degenerate drunk, Jay Lands man was a glutton who likes to read porn mag mags on his desk. Herc broke his promise to Bubbs and went on to use his inside information from working in the PD to extort money from drug dealers, the informant in the last scene shows clearly that the white are also having negative stereotype. The wire is a show about different institutions and how they work and fail. I f any one got the wrong idea about black people from watching the show; they are morons to begin with who do not understand subtlety and character development. Generally the show indicates what is happening in the real world.
