Part one
1.NASA discovered a microorganism that could survive and also reproduce in the arsenic surroundings. The organism was found to live in a mono lake in California. Also, the plant changes arsenic for phosphorous, ay its back part of the body and other components of the cellular body (Prud’homme-Généreux, 2010). The statement meant that if the plant was realized to survive for long, it could be proof of life beyond planet Earth.
- The statement is clear proof that the information was to be made formal. Rumors were avoided until confirmation about the microorganism was done, after the findings. Thus, the news was a ban to give the researchers time for certainty about what they discovered (Prud’homme-Généreux, 2010). An embargo is an official authorization of stopping something from happening. The ban is always made between two nations: a country is banned from accomplishing activities with another country.
1.Yes! The reporter went against the rules. An embargo was made, and he went ahead to post about the scientific discovery. If I were in charge of the science public relations division, I would revoke the reporter’s future access to scientific articles because he will not be ethical (Prud’homme-Généreux, 2010). The reporter might contradict information at some point where reality and the published do not match in the report.
Part two
- The symbol for phosphorus is P. also, phosphorous is found in group 15 of the periodic table too. The atomic number of phosphorous, which is non-metal, is 15. Phosphorous is metal at room temperature only (Prud’homme-Généreux, 2010). Phosphorus makes the nitrogen family along with other elements like bismuth, arsenic, and nitrogen. Finally, phosphorous has three colors, black, white, or red. Phosphorous glows in the dark and has a garlic-like smell.
