Nature of philosophical ethics
Philosophical ethics are valid based on the statements that are corresponding to the ethical perspective. In ethics, people are consequential in their actions; that is, they look at the result of actions before committing them. In this regard, philosophical ethics work with normative statements, which express actions or activities that ought to happen. This gives people the opportunity to effect actions that are ethically oriented based on such statements. Descriptive statements, on the other hand, provide the ultimate descriptions; thus, one has no chance to change them once they are imminent. For example, there is the case of environmental ethics where a normative statement expounds on how the environment ought to be; thereafter, with valid reasons, we can conditions our actions to orient with the ethical perspective based on what we ought to achieve.
