Why are patients complaining about different pain medication offered by different nurses?
There have been complaints by patients about why they have to wait for a pain medication when sure nurses assigned to them. It was noted that there was a difference in the pain medication offered to different patients by different nurses raising a concern of withholding treatment based on a person’s gender, sex age, race, or religion. These causes of different pain medications pointed out to be due to the difficulty of nurses to decide on pain treatments thereby they end up treating patients differently in the name of avoiding harmful side effects from the drugs.
Hypothesis
Patients experience inconvenience in pain medication due to nurses inability to make up their decision which suitable drug to provide
Testability. A nurse will be stranded when supposed give pain medication to an older patient in the fear that too much it may be too strong for the patient
Nurses provide pain medication differently depending on ethnic groups
Testability. It was found out the less privileged have shown to acquire treated with less pain medication than the wealthy ones in emergency rooms, labor, and in an autopsy.
Conclusion
The fact that nurses aimed at relieving patients of suffering its odd to understand why hospitalized patients’ pain is not well controlled. Nurses should embrace an integral way of making a decision on the pain medication of a patient as well as making unbiased, ethical decisions on pain medication of patients. This ill instills trust and confidence in patients.
