Organizational Problems
Summary
Despite having other problems, the engineering industries have organization problems that arise from how the industry functions. Mostly these problems are based on the administration and the leadership and how it affects the industry’s production. For instance, there are industries with fewer managers; therefore, the task of supervising many employees is challenging. The issue of managing employees is not the only issue here; some managers have extra tasks such as contacting suppliers, arranging transportation, and even marketing. This seems like an overtasking if it is done by two or fewer managers. In situations like these, the managers may fail to excel in one of the tasks. Therefore, they interfere with the overall production of the industry.
The management issue in the engineering industries has become a severe problem that can generate other related problems. For instance, the management of the industry can interfere with the type of technology used in the industry. An excellent example of explaining this point is when an engineering industry has an effective management system; there are high chances that the industry can employ new technology that will increase the production of the industry. In our case, an industry with fewer or less reliable managers can have difficulties in implementing new technology in that they do not have reliable management strategies in the industry. This has been a problem in the engineering industry for a very long time. Other issues that have been identified in the previous papers about the problems related to the engineering industries seem to be generated from the aspect of management. If the management of an enterprise is not efficient as it should be, the implementation of new technology is a tough decision to make. Even if there is capital to invest in new technology, the management of the industry will prevent the process from taking place. Don't use plagiarised sources.Get your custom essay just from $11/page
The impact of poor management in the engineering industry is a very diverse problem that can impact other activities around the industry. Poor management can also interfere with the supply of raw materials. Raw materials supply depends on the management of an industry. In the case of an industry where there is poor management, the interfering of supply of raw materials is possible because the managers of the industry will not be able to control outside activities if managing inside activities is confusing to them. According to research done for the last two decades, about 40% of the engineering industries worldwide have ceased production for a couple of years because of the supply of raw materials.
Opinion
From the paper, I have noted that organization problems are based on the management of the sector. Therefore, basing on my judgment on the management of the engineering industries, I think that if the management is made efficient, then then industry will prosper. Engineering industries for a long time have been neglecting the issue of management. This is why the sectors keep on shutting down once in a while. The management in any industry is a faculty that deals with the general functioning of the entire enterprise. If the management fails in any way to deliver what is mandated to do, then the whole production of the company might be compromised.
The most note activity that is usually affected by management is the production of the industry. Production is dependent on very many factors related to the industry. Some of them are highlighted below:
- Employees’ satisfaction– if the employees are not satisfied with the management method of the industry, then their working rate will reduce.
- Relationship between employees and managers– a good relationship is paramount.
- Motivations– if the employees are motivated more often, they tend to produce more.
The above factors should be observed by industry and ensure that the management meets them to reduce the cases of mismanagement.
Reaction
While reading the article, I created a close connection between other problems of engineering with the organizational problem. And in this case, the article talked about management as the primary factor that influences most of the organizational issues. The author in writing this article focused on management because he thought that management is a factor that should be fo
cused on to improve the production of the industry. I support the argument that the author was driving at because I have witnessed many industries fall because of poor management.
The author says that the supply of raw materials is based on the type of management of an industry. If the management of the industry is not efficient, then the supply of raw materials becomes stagnant and that. In this statement, the author meant that the process of acquiring raw materials depends on the management of a particular company or an industry. If there is a part in the industry that is lagging, then the administration in some way is involved. Therefore, I believe that the author in writing this article highlighted all the essential factor that the management contribute to the organization problem.
Importance
In conclusion, there are some factors that the engineering industries should consider to curb the issue of the organization’s problems and provide ultimate solutions. First and foremost, the engineering industries should ensure that they hire enough managers. Managers are personnel granted the duty of overlooking activities of the company on behalf of the owners or bosses. Therefore if the engineering industry employs enough managers, the chances of increasing the production are very high. Managers can push the employees into working harder, and as we all know, hard work pays. Managers should be the primary focus when deciding on increasing the production of the industry should focus on the managers.
Second, is that the engineering industries should divide management in that there are managers who deal with employees only, and those that deal with the supply of raw material only. This way, the industry will avoid cases of multitasking, which results in inefficient production. Managers seem to be the pillars of the organization because they control every activity that relates to the production of the industry. Therefore, the engineering industry deals with the issue of management, then solving the organizational problem will be an easy task.
