Organizing a domain
The servers need to be kept in a cool, and locked place and adapt the use of cloud computing storage before securing access. The users need to create and strong passwords that comprise lower and upper case characters as well as special characters. Additionally, the machines need to run on enabled virus protection and work on encryption to protect the internet sites accessed.
Organizing a domain is necessary as any unauthorized access to an organization’s system is likely to damage the company’s reputation and put much pressure on the network administrators. There is, thus, a need to provide access level rights to different employers and site users to control what they should read, write, or view without modification rights. Before assigning access rights, the physical storage device needs to have full proof security. Every user needs to have a strong password to access the system and need not share it with anyone. This helps in accountability and holding employees liable in case data breaches happen through their login details. The duties of each employee must be defined before any access permissions are approved and assigned. The permission levels need to be grouped to enable easy control and awarding of usernames and accesses rights. As per the available NTFS
permission levels, there are Full Control rights, Modifying, Read and Execute rights and read and Write permissions. There are also List Folder Contents Permissions. The rights are grouped into administrators, executive management level, job assistants and workers level access.
