Outline on The Business Writing class
Introduction
The Business Writing class has been very beneficial and helpful for me. As I started the semester, I had goals to be able to achieve proper business writing skills. My decision to take the class was to ensure that I learn how to be a better business writer and in the long run, be a good communicator in the business field. I realized that business writing is formal compared to the ordinary form of writing. Business language is very respectful and straight to the point of being able to convey a message effectively. With future plans of venturing into the business world, business writing is an essential skill for me.
Specified Issues
The challenges that I had as I took the class initially were that I had a generally bad attitude towards business writing and found it really boring. I also assumed that communication was all the same, but I realized that every field has a different style of communication. Learning about business writing was also my first time, and this means that there was a lot of information I had to learn about. My overall business writing skills were poor and needed a major boost up.
Improvements
Over the semester, I have been able to learn a lot of useful lessons that have greatly helped me improve. I am now a better business writer and communicator. My confidence has also greatly improved something that I didn’t have before. I faced challenges of not being able to understand concepts at the beginning of the class. Through the course, my understanding of the essence of proper writing and communication has improved, and I not only take it as a formality but as an essentiality in being organized and disciplined as a prospective business person.
Conclusion
The course has generally been an interesting experience, and with a lot of information learned. It is not the only essentiality as a business person, but even as an individual who does not directly deal with business personnel, as it helps you to be a better negotiator of business offers. These skills will be essential in my business writing endeavors’ as I plan to pursue a more advanced business course and later on be a business person.
