Patient safety is the cornerstone of high-quality care and a critical role of all health providers. I am delighted to hear that your organization takes this strictly, and the measures developed to attain patient safety goals effectively. All health stakeholders must be involved and not only the nurses who tend to carry all the blame in case of the occurrence of errors. To ensure responsibility and accountability, every diagnostic finding, prescriptions, and planned interventions must be communicated and documented. Moreover, errors and misses must be immediately notified, addressed, and documented.

Patient safety strategies can only be strengthened by improving patient-centered care and involving the patients as part of the health care team (Bergeson, S. C., & Dean, J. D. (2016). Initiatives such as establishing a safety management system, building a rapid response system, and creating a safety compliance plan will help ensure safety. In the united nations, patient safety and quality health care services have been provided through the development of Hospital National Patient Safety Goals (HNPSG) and National Quality Improvement Goals (NQIG). The initiatives help identify and resolve medical safety and quality issues. Therefore, to improve patient safety, it requires the collaboration of the healthcare team and the patient and also the establishment of hospital protocols and compliance policies.

Ensuring patient environmental safety

You made it clear on the contribution of a safe environment towards patient safety. Families and patients enter the hospital and assume they are in a safe environment, thus, maintaining a safe environment in hospitals depends on the infrastructure and the equipment and availability of resources. The safe environment also entails preventing hospital hazards such as falls, slips, and infection prevention through proper waste disposal and cleanliness. The hospitals should set policies and guidelines that ensure high standards and integrity of the patient environment. According to (Keift, R. A., et al. 2014), patient safety depends on the caregiver and environment, and the patients and families tend to look for tangible evidence that guarantees their security.

Brittany, I am very impressed by the measures put in place to ensure patient safety. The effort in which you all put makes health care delivery satisfactory to all parties. The bedside rails, knee pads, mattresses, and the alarm system, are all wise based on the nature of your facility. If only all health care organizations can impress this and work closely with the patient, patient safety will be at ultimate (Parker, L. J. (2019).
