Philanthropy
Philanthropy is the urge to promote the well-being of others. Asian American non-profit organizations are groups that provide aid to refugees, the elderly, and children and to promote equal opportunities for them. Countless people flee their countries because of calamities, such as wars, diseases, floods, etc. These groups are there to make sure that these people are well catered for and comfortable. I have participated in a non-profit organization, and it was a very great experience for me. I got to interact with people from all walks of life, both young and old. I also learnt a lot as I interacted with other volunteers. Don't use plagiarised sources.Get your custom essay just from $11/page
We faced some minor challenges, especially in communication. We interacted with people from several ethnic groups, and there was a communication barrier between us. However, we had a translator who helped us reduce the communication barrier, therefore, making it easier for us to understand each other. Another challenge that we encountered is the lack of enough finance to fund our projects. Lack of infrastructure is also a problem that we encountered. My institution lacked professional training in areas such as management, fundraising, communication, financial and accounting system.
Promotion of philanthropy has become very common in our society. Many people are volunteering to help others who are in need. In case of any calamities, they help them to be stable by providing them with basic needs such as food, shelter, and clothing. They also build schools so that their children can also get an education. Most of these refugees without the help of these non-profit organizations live tough lives. Our role is to welcome them into our countries, visit them regularly and assure them that we won’t live them alone. Our goal is also to give them hope for a better life.
