Physical drives lag in connectivity
Hard disks are the most commonly used storage in the photography business. People highly rely on them in terms of storage and security. But in the current competitive market, it has some setbacks. Customers today need access and faster delivery. Physical drives lag in connectivity and various other facilities.
- Physical threat
Hard disk faces the ultimate risk from physical damage. Damage through water or gravity itself can jeopardize the entire project. Data retrieval process in case of hard disk failure is costly and time-consuming. A crashed hard-disk is enough to ruin your business and work season.
- Lacks Access
Imagine working with a nagging client. You are on the move, and the client wants a sample of photos or want to see your edit progress. Physical hard drives will not save the day for you. It lacks connectivity. Forget about responding to client request of sharing, especially when you are on the move.
- Lacks Sync
New photos are to be separately added to the physical drive. Lack of sync feature is the most significant setback. Working with physical drive consumes a considerable amount of time. It needs to be carried around for storage.
- Cost of quality
Hard-disk have a clear cut policy; you need to pay for space you buy. Linear pricing drives the hard-disk business. More you spend the more storage you will receive at your disposal. Though there is a damage warranty, it will not cover the cost of file recovery. Once files are lost means, they are practically gone.
