The research shows that transport emissions have been increasing in recent years. This means that the necessary measures have to be taken to curb these emissions. I will use this study as a tool for advocating changes in the transport sector. Most importantly, I will advocate for alternative means of transport such as railways, use of bicycles (cycling), walking, public transportation, and carpooling. I will advocate for the imposition of charges for people using personal vehicles. Also, I will advocate for the travel limits using personal vehicles such that a person can only drive for a certain specified period of time beyond which a penalty is imposed on him/her.
Again I will advocate for the state to educate citizens about the importance of using alternative transport. Through public education, people will be taught the importance of keeping the environment clean. As such, the public will understand the importance of using cycling and using public means of transport without coercion. They will do it willingly by themselves.
Lastly, I will plead with the government to impose heavy duties on vehicles, especially heavy-duty vehicles. This will make it expensive for individuals to purchase cars and hence use alternative transportation.
