Population health
Population health is defined as the health outcomes of a group of individuals, including the distribution of the results in a group. It helps in enhancing the health condition of a specific group of people in a given geographical location. It is Important for HCO to understand population health since it is directed towards the overall performance of the people through patient satisfaction. Population health assists the HCO in financial improvement. It helps in mitigation of cost through the focusing of appropriate utilization of services hence development in management and effective coordination of care. Community needs assessments are the conducting of a survey to identify and quantify opportunities for improvement in a community. Conducting community needs assessment raises the visibility of the local health department.
