Primary and secondary
In sociology, there are groups where two or more people regularly interact with each other and share a collective identity and sense of unity. These groups can be classified as primary groups and secondary groups. Primary groups are small, close, personal, and intimate relationships that last a long time or a lifetime. In the primary group, the group that influences my life most is my family, especially my parents. They have been a guide to me in the development of morals, values, norms, beliefs, behavior, and how I view the world. It is a small but close group where they are always with you in all situations, always encouraging you to be the best. You can separate from the other people, and those relationships may not last a lifetime, but with the parents, it will be a lifetime and guaranteed relationship. The secondary group is slightly impersonal and are temporary groups or associations which you are united with to achieve a common goal together more so in education and work setting. The most significant secondary group that, at the moment, influences my life is the school or education setting. The study groups and friends I have made in my education career, some large to excel in academics, have been influential in my success in academics thus far. The relationships are temporary, but by the time they come to an end, we will have achieved our end goal, which is a success or excel in academics. One factor that cannot be overruled is the fact that a person from a secondary group may become too close ad becomes a primary group member in a situation of a best friend or a significant other. The biggest population of the group always remains temporary associations.
