The war on drugs has been politicized to further the political interests of specific individuals. The drug war has been used as a tool to fight the opposing communities and further discrimination.

President Nixon initiated the drug war. However, many people did not; it was also his strategy to fight the opposing communities, especially African Americans. He heavily criticized the use of Marijuana and Heroin. They were linked with the black community. That way, he was able to disrupt their meetings, arrest their leaders, and put them in prison.

The drug war violates several amendments to the US constitution. Police can stop and frisk individuals without a warrant. Arrests could be made by merely possessing marijuana. Many prisons hold minor criminals, while the more prominent criminals are missed. The system is meant to milk taxpayers’ money. A lot of money is set, especially for private prisons. The subhuman practices continued after the 13th amendment continues to perpetuate slavery, especially to the black community of the United States.

The evolution of humane for specific groups project slavery into the future. There has mismanagement of the flag championed by minority and vulnerable groups. The black community image has been on the evolutions.

There has been mistreatment of the Mexicans and the gay community. Presence of segregated public institutions further champions racism. The Supreme Court passed laws criminalizing gay sex and gay marriages. Mentally ill people were classified among the constituents of the African American community.
The video on cracked exposed furthered my understanding regarding prisons in the United States. They are used by greedy politicians to promote discrimination and racism. The prisons get used as a political tool. Rather than offering correctional facilities, they are used as political asylums of those expressing opposing opinions.
The questions are remaining unanswered for me to regard the whole political prisoning. Does the community understand prisons are not used for what they should be used for? How does society perceive their correctional facilities? Do they have any idea concerning political prisoning? How humane do they see their political leaders? I would love to get an insight into these questions based on what I have understood regarding prisons and politics.
