Process control and management
Influenza it is also referred to as flu.it, is a hazardous viral infection that affects mainly the upper respiratory organs. (Lungs, bronchi, throat, and nose).the virus is primarily transmitted from one person to another through sneezing or coughing. For one to get infected, it requires close contact. Most of the symptoms include headache, severe malaise, body aches, and higher fever. infuenza mainly spreads rapidly during seasonal epidemics. This epidemic occurs early during winter and autumn in temperate regions. It mostly affects about 20% of the children and 5% of the adults each year. This essay will highlight what to check and what to do if a patient has signs of influenza, and the test is negative.
Influenza tests through the laboratory may not show the correct results of the flu. The rapid antigen test generally indicates 50% to 70% results of influenza cases. While molecular analysis discovers 66% to 100% of the evidence following the trial used, a negative consequence means that the tests are not detecting the influenza strain.it also means that there are no influenza viruses in the sample to be identified.
If a patient tests the contrary and has the signs and symptoms of influenza, it is advisable to check the following for accurate results. You have to check on the prevalence of flu of the patient tested; this will be important since influenza activities vary in every seasonally, which affects prediction value — the time from illness onset to a collection of respiratory for testing. The testing collected within 3-4 days the patient tests positive. Also, you have to check on the type of respiratory specimen used in the analysis.
After a check on what had caused the results to be cynical, I would repeat the same testing process. I have to use another type of respiratory specimen to confirm if it will present the same results obtained before from the patient. i must also ensure that I use the appropriate viral transport media that may be different from the location where the specimen was collected.to increase the accuracy of the influenza results have to obtain a good quality respiratory specimen. Then I will know if the previous results were accurate.
