Mentor – refers to a teacher who is certified or an administrator in case a teacher is not available. Mentors are available on the bases of tenure. They are respected and valued by colleagues as well as administrators because of their commitment to the quality of education (Wolery, & Common, 2018). Mentors are assigned with the responsibility to train teachers so that they can achieve the required skills, knowledge of what is expected of them in class.

Mentee -the term mentee refers to a teacher who is new in the education industry. The teacher is usually certified but lacks prior knowledge of what is expected in practical events. A mentee must learn from mentors before they can be useful in the class.

A new teacher who has undergone certification after a specified date. All such teachers should be eligible to be enrolled in the teacher mentoring program.

The mentee must be willing to be under the supervision and instructions of the assigned mentor. The mentee must also heed to the instructions as given by the instructor or mentor. However, the duties assigned to the mentors do not deprive the management the authority to assess and evaluate the performance of the mentees (Wolery, & Common, 2018). On the other hand, the authority of the management over the mentees does not deny the mentor to notice and report any unethical behavior in the course of the mentoring program.

The mentor has a role in creating a connection between the mentees and training or learning resources provided for the program. This is the only way that the mentee acquires something from the program.

The mentor has expected to help the mentees build and work towards their goals.

The mentor should enhance quality communication during the course and apply productive criticism to assist the mentors in understanding everything.

The role of the Mentees

The mentees must make use of all the resources provided to them. This includes mentors and other types of resources.

Mentees must fill the mentor or mentee report forms as required by the oversight institutions.

Mentees must participate and attend to all mentoring sessions as outlined in the time table.
