Relationship of Karam’s Safe Act Case to Teacher’s Everyday Life
This court bullying case has followed and adhered to the regulatory framework provided in the Ontario safe school act of discipline and discrimination. It is all applications in the teacher’s daily routines. Schools should not tolerate rowdy behaviors from students because they bring about rejection, exclusion, and estrangement that may, in turn, cause disinterest in school, reduced achievement, and a high dropout rate (Osterman, 200). It is imminent in Karam’s case whereby he is allegedly a chokehold victim in an aggressive play fighting scene and thus bullying. It is, therefore, the reason the board of teachers should exercise policies that encompass these needs, such as the implementation of staff development to foster security, technologies, and law enforcement partnerships.
Pride of being connected to teachers, fellow students, and the entire school fraternity makes a student improve in performance academically (Blum et al., 2002). In Karam’s case, it is evident because we see Winston getting acquainted with fellow two male students after enrollment, where later on, this relationship spring up problems. He complains to the principal and vice-principal of his stolen property, meaning that they are connected. A teacher’s reaction later on of having not received any bullying complains is evident, meaning that they are involved in the safety of students in the school. The policy of the school, family, and community involvement is imminent.
Equity emphasizes that race, gender, and social, economic status should not bar students from achieving their ambitions. All teams involved in education decision making must enhance the right conditions for success among learners to alleviate barriers (OME, 2008). Their diversity in cultures, respect, inclusiveness, and fairness should be emphasized (Jamieson, 2008). There was evidence of Winston neglected because the board did not sanction an ambulance when he was panicking. His parent’s prudence led to the court’s verdict that confirmed him a victim of bullying, and this had to separate him through homeschooling. His family had to receive reimbursement from the board on all incurred expenses. A safe and learning environment should have been enhanced here through the acquiring and utilization of resources like that of the ambulance and linking the school with mental health and social service agencies.
