The construction of infrastructure is an essential program that every country aims to achieve in a given period. In that regard, Germany is among the greatest countries in the word with multibillion infrastructure. For that reason, I believe the decision to expand the Berlin Brandenburg Airport was very critical in transforming the transport system. I also feel that the delay in the construction of the Berlin Brandenburg Airport affected the system of transport in Germany. Mainly, the delay in the opening of the airport was affected by poot planning. In any project, it is essential to enhance the planning process using relevant stakeholders. Proper planning enhances the performance of a project by reducing the time taken to complete the project. If the project had proper planning, the total expenditure would have reduced.
I also believe that the project was affected by construction issues. In that regard, the issues in the construction delayed the project for several years which impacted the opening timeline of the project. I also believe the opening time of the project was delayed the budgeting process that escalated the costs. The management of the project was another issue that affected the opening of the airport because managers came and went. I also feel that the project involved high ranking stakeholders. Thus, I attribute the delay with corruption, poor management, poor construction planning, and execution. Thus, if only Germany considered these issues, the Berlin Brandenburg Airport would be one of the most successful international infrastructures in the world. However, I believe the year 2020 will be a breakthrough to Germany because Autumn 2020 has been set as the new target to transform Germany.
