Using mixed methods is preferable because of its efficiency in drawing on qualitative and quantitative research while at the same time cutting down on the limitations of both approaches. Based on a practical level, mixed-method study provides an advanced, compound approach that draws people on the leading positions of new research procedures, which can also be useful if a researcher has access to qualitative and quantitative data. The reason for using mixed methods at a procedural level is because it is a helpful strategy to have a more detailed understanding of research problems and questions such as developing cases or documenting different ones for comparison.

The mixed-method case study design focuses on a particular situation and narrows down large fields of research into one simple and researchable topic. The design also gives indications and allows the further elaboration of the problem. An example of a study that can be conducted using a case study is to focus on one African country to establish the reasons for increased infant mortality rates in the general African countries.

With the rise of Saloon for male workers due to increased income for the working class, free time and need for relief, women stayed at home and lost income from their small businesses. Additionally, they lost the company of their husbands and males in the community. Prostitution and Gambling became prominent in Butte Montana, although the majority of people hardly approved or had reservations regarding the two. There was also improper sanitation in the dense neighbourhoods, which posed a health threat to residents

The city of Fransisco uses its current crime data to identify the patterns to which crimes happen, which allows people to know the areas with low or high crime rates around the city. The crime reports data is essential to citizens because they can can use them to identify which streets to avoid when travelling at night, hence increasing the likelihood of their safety. Moreover, the data is essential to police service as they are making them more accountable when people demand better services, thus increasing efficiency.

The other reasons why the leaders of Fransisco would want the city to be safe are its potential economic growth and its involvement in politics. According to a SAGE production (2017), The Bay area of SanFRANSISCO boosts the economy of the state because of its thriving food economy and the high number of employments in the area, with an annual value of $113 billion. San Fransisco has a significant position in politics because it has the highest number or no part preference voters in California. The two reasons make it essential to protect the city from crimes.

The women in Butte, Montana, were in search of new ways of overcoming the domination of men during the prohibition. Women did so bystarting the bootleg businesses, which played a role in compensating for their loss of income in the kitchen stoves. Murphy (1994) states that “bootlegging in fact, provided a new vehicle for women, especially widows and wives, to supplement their incomes. Further, they increased their drinking when women started owning speakeasies. However, they were making their clothes shorter and curting their hair, which was rather odd at the time.

An understanding of the society of prohibition-era Butte, Montana can help us understand the community today by keeping in mind that the women in that time stood for what they believed in, which was the right to drink in public just like men. In society today, people also fight for what they think is right by means like peaceful demonstrations. Such an understanding shows that society tends to rebel against as an effect of public policy, which they do by fighting for what they think is right even if it is against the policies.
