Research paper reflection
I wrote my first research paper on learned helplessness by trial and error. I had very little experience in the research wring process. It was a challenging process for me to understand the methodology required and finding the best data resource (Konwar & Mahanjit, pg 179) for learned helplessness. I made use of internet resources without knowing that not every resource published on the internet is accurate. This challenge made me realized the need to search for citations and references before making use of website resources. I also overcome the challenge of using the internet as a resource by browsing related websites (Singh & Manjet Kaur Meha, pg 12) on learned helplessness in order to check for consistency of the available information. This approach helped me to weigh and analyze the authenticity of the available information in the internet resource. Don't use plagiarised sources.Get your custom essay just from $11/page
Another main challenge I experienced in writing my first research paper on learned helplessness, was the development of the thesis statement (Konwar & Mahanjit, pg 179). I was unsure of how to craft a thesis statement relating to the topic given. I later managed to overcome the challenge by expressing my opinion and developing a comprehensive conclusion on learned helplessness. Overcoming this challenge helped me to maintain consistency and coherency on the topic by creating an outline of the topic and ideas to maintain the required coherence. Additionally, it was difficult for me to find supporting evidence to support my research on learned helplessness due to the availability of limited sources on the internet (Singh & Manjet Kaur Meha, pg 12). Lastly, I experienced difficulties in using the citation standards indicated—failure to adhere to citation standards resulted in plagiarism. I later learned to overcome the challenge by establishing, identifying quotes, and making citations right away.
In conclusion, the most important requirement for a comprehensive research paper is proper organization. Select the right research method, develop a good thesis statement, identify reliable sources, and adhere to the citation standards.
